Third Rock has been organizing and leading customized small-group travel adventures for over two decades. We are educators who love to explore the world and enjoy sharing our knowledge and experience with others.
A native Houstonian, Kelly roamed the sidelines and classrooms of St. John’s and Kinkaid for over 22 years. For the past 20 summers, as soon as school let out, Coach Bolin has meticulously packed his pack and headed across the pond to lead adventures in Europe and Asia. Kelly loves the sites and tastes of other cultures, and enjoys sharing them with friends and making new ones along the way. At 5:00 on a summer afternoon Kelly can be found enjoying an ice-cold Grolsch at a sidewalk cafe in Amsterdam or wandering the Eiger Walk in the Swiss Alps. He and his wife Charner now split their time between Houston and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
A native Houstonian, Charner attended
St. John’s School before graduating from Lamar High School. A life-long traveler, she spent many summers growing up in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico as well as a year abroad studying in Madrid, Spain. She has continued to explore the world, most recently traveling to Cambodia and Vietnam. When traveling, Charner loves meeting people and trying new things. She’s shared her motherly love, raising daughters Cullum and Mabry, with many Third Rock travelers since 2003. Charner and her husband, Kelly, can be found between Houston and San Miguel de Allende.
